    We just sold a town home in Davie, Florida where it appears the President of the HOA is also a Realtor, seems she intertwines the two and makes idle threats at the unsuspecting! It`s hard to believe this person doesn`t understand her fiduciary responsibilities which is the reason she was elected to the position in the first place.

    We contacted this person on Tuesday, explained to her that we needed to pick up the forms for our seller and arrange an interview for the buyer to commence. She kindly informed me that she had interviewed with the seller weeks before I did and was stunned that the seller didn`t select her!

    I asked her what day we could stop by to pick up the forms and that`s when things got a bit nasty!

    The conversation is as follows:

    HOA Pres: I`m very busy this whole week, I won`t have time to see you!

    Me: OK, no problem, can you fax over the paper work to our office?

    HOA Pres. Our policy doesn`t allow us to do that ,it`s in our bi-laws.

    Me: The bi-laws state that you meet the second Thursday of every month and need the forms filled out properly by the 5TH of each month in order to complete the interview, the buyers are moving in on the 27TH of June!

    HOA Pres: That`s the reason the Homeowners in this community select me as their Realtor to sell their home, I do the paper work for them when I feel like it!

    Me: Really, so basically you`re the HOA President and Realtor who uses her position to squeeze people? Do you

    Suddenly, she backs off, stops acting like a complete idiot and realizes that she has left herself wide open for a FREC investigation!

    The forms and interview date were faxed to our office within 10 minutes after our conversation.

    I guess the HOA is in safe hands with this person running around exercising her power!
