But what about the moms who work but also stay home? How do they do it? We interviewed 2 successful moms with in-home businesses and were surprised to learn that they make it work with shockingly different outlooks on family time, raising their children and work/life balance.Beware of allowances and pricey upgrades when looking at specifications by architects, designers and contractors when remodeling or considering a new construction home. Standard features and specifications should be included any construction contract. If you’re considering a mid-priced home or remodel, mid-priced appliances, cabinets, flooring, lighting, plumbing, and windows should be standard, not an upgrade or an allowance.-An allowance is a monetary value attached to an item of work in a new or remodeled home. If a contract stipulates $1,000 for kitchen countertops, any amount over that, comes out of your pocket as an extra. So, if you decide you want granite countertops, and the allowance is for $1,000, which is for Formica, the difference is your expense. Find out when we interview her below. The backbone of an online marketer’s haven lies with successful link building. When you develop a website, it needs to grow visibly online. For this to happen, you should have a list of people, who are responsive. An opt-in list is a record of email addresses of people who have voluntarily chosen to receive future information from you or your website. In expanding this list, you have to work on two vital factors – the list itself and its responsiveness. These two factors work hand-in-hand in building your website traffic. A large list of email addresses is useless if over 50% of it is not active. When your goal is simply to build a large opt-in list (without targeting responsiveness), you’re setting up your business nowhere. My children have always been happy and well-adjusted at the quality daycare we choose for them. They are content to play with friends and engage in activities all day long that I couldn’t provide for them at home while trying to get work done.Whether doing my weekly radio show, teaching entrepreneurial classes, or doing personal coaching, I talk to a lot of would-be entrepreneurs these days and I’m discovering that many of them are suffering from what I call, "I Don’t Syndrome" or IDS.IDS is a sad malady that affects many people who claim they want to start their own business, but never seem to get beyond just talking about it. The symptoms of IDS are a lack of belief in themselves, a fear of failure and ridicule, a misguided belief that lots of money is required to start a business, and lousy time management skills. IDS can even cause an otherwise intelligent person to question their own sanity. It’s a sad disease that prevents thousands of people every year from achieving their American Dream. But there is hope. When I have to run errands for my business, I often combine it with something fun for my kids, like including a stop for ice cream. For a small business owner, it is not easy to arrange funds and start a new project. You have to face the financial crunch. You cannot put all your personal money into business projects. So, you have to look at the financing options that can provide cash on a reasonable rate for the smooth working of the business activities.Today, you are not confined to the traditional means of getting a loan. You can also opt for some creative financing options.Innovative Financing OptionsSometimes, a situation arises where you cannot acquire conventional loans. In that condition, you can opt for some non-traditional financing methods like:Participating Bond Transactions (PBTs): Such transactions don’t involve an advance refunding. I love that I can be home for them as they get off the bus and have their after-school snack ready. This is something I never had as a child and I enjoy doing it for my kids. I don’t work at all in the evening – that is my quality time with my family. But, after everyone is tucked snugly into their beds, I am back at it and often work until after midnight. Mom 2 – I work all day. Not exclusively, of course, but I am always doing two things at once, minding my kids and thinking about my business. My kids are used to Mommy always working and talking on the phone, but they know I am always there for them. Getting it all Done: Mom 1– Sometimes I find myself doing dishes and putting in a load of laundry at crazy times. Usually, I try to get these household tasks in progress while my kids are eating breakfast or playing together. But, many nights I can be found packing lunches and folding laundry into the wee early morning hours! Mom 2 – Organization. That’s how I do it. Planning what needs done for the next day and making sure everything is where is needs to be. Otherwise, I fear our lives would spiral into chaos. Prioritization: Mom 1 – It’s easy to say ‘family comes first’ because of course, it does. But, doesn’t running a successful business and earning money for them also important? And that’s where the line for me gets fuzzy. Pretty much everything I do is for my family (even taking time out as I am a much ‘nicer’ Mom after a lunch outing or getting my nails done) so it is difficult to draw a line. Mom 2 - I agree with Amber that family comes first. For me and my family, that means begin together as much as possible and doing things together as a family unit. Being a Role Model for Kids: Mom 1 – This is very important to me. I want
