Are These Car Insurance Options Worth Taking ExperimentThere are certain options that many car insurance policy holders usually agonize over and are never quite sure whether or not to include. For instance many folks find it unnecessary to take out comprehensive cover where the car is not brand new or so valuable that should anything happen replacement could prove to be extremely difficult and expensive. Comprehensive insurance usually covers damage to the car that does As an employee, you have to do the tasks assigned to you. But as a self-employed professional who works from home, I'm free to take my business in any direction I want. I get to experiment with marketing... with what I sell and how I sell it... with how I treat my customers. Another way to say this: I am in control. Rather than an employer controlling me, I am free to control how I run my business. I lov Making UK Mortgages More Accessible I haven't shared this with many people, but in July 2006, after being self-employed for over a year, I took a job. A client of mine who loved my work wanted me to try it for 30 days. And so I agreed: three days in the office, two at home.Previously, in the UK, if you wanted to apply for a mortgage to buy a new home, the amount that would be lent to you would be automatically tied to how much money you earned. With runaway UK housing prices over the last decade, and with incomes remaining fairly stable, this method of calculating how much you could borrow on a mortgage has become out dated. Today, many new home buyers need to look for more creative ways At the end of 30 days, I couldn't take it anymore. I had to go back to working from home full-time. I love it too much. In fact, those 30 days really forced me to think about why I love working from home. Here are five reasons: 1. Freedom to Work Whenever I Want I love that I can wake up at 5 a.m. and start working immediately. I also love that I can sleep in until my body is rested, take the morning off, and start my work-day after lunch. Oh, and I love that I don't have to use "vacation time" for car repairs, dental appointments, and other routine things I have to get done. 2. Freedom to Work Wherever I Want I love that I can work in my study, or upstairs at the kitchen table, or at the Panera Bread restaurant down the street. I never realized how stifling it can be to work in the same place all day, every day for the entire year until I began working from home. I also didn't realize how switching up where you work can spark creativity and help you overcome "work resistance." 3. Freedom to Eat 3 Meals a Day with My Family This is extremely important to me. I'm married with a 3-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son. I love to spend time with them. Since I've been working at home, I get to eat three meals a day with them on most days. I love this. It was the first thing I missed when I tried out that job for 30 days. And the first thing I was so glad to have back. 4. Freedom to Experiment As an employee, you have to do the tasks assigned to you. But as a self-employed professional who works from home, I'm free to take my business in any direction I want. I lov The Advantages Of An Online Debt Consolidation Quote ExperimentDebt consolidation is a process one adopts when in great debt. Rather than an employer controlling me, I am free to control how I run my business. I love this! (By the way, the #1 reason for stress in people's live is feeling out of control.) 5. Freedom to Shovel the Driveway the Morning it Snows Okay, this one might seem wacky to you, so let me explain. I live in Denver, Colorado. We get a decent amount of snow during the winter. When I had a job, I never had time to shovel the driveway on mornings that it snowed. I remember backing out of the driveway over the fresh snow, thinking, "Man, these tire tracks are going to turn to ice and I'm going to have to chip it off the driveway tonight. Oh, well. Gotta get to work." Then I'd sit in traffic for much longer than a sane person should, trying to get to work. Now, every time it snows I'm reminded how blessed I am to work from home. I get to go out and shovel the driveway before I leave the house. The kids come out and play while I shovel. And I watch my neighbors drive (slide?) to work. It's a great feeling. If you already work from home, I encourage you to count your blessings. Constantly remind yourself of why you love being self-employed. And if you've not yet broken free, write down your reasons and meditate on them. These will provide you with the motivation to do what it takes to be your own boss.
