    Multiplying Sales As A Writer
Often, time is an enemy of writers. Sales seem slow and checks too small. How does one make the most of their effort? Here are some tips that will multiply your sales.1. The successful writer, one who stays with it regardless of the rejections, innuendos and barbs, long and tedious hours, is a writer you might want to pay attention to. I am such a writer and after 17 years of on-again, off again and then success, I can share some tips that will help you toward success.

Number one, know yourself and know your interests.

Two, understand the English language. Wanting to write is wonderful but few know how to use the English language in an interesting and professional way.

Three, take your time with your writing. Be prepared for many rewrites. A good article is produced only often after many rewrites. The idea is to create the article in as few words possible. This takes time.

Four, make sure when you turn in your manuscript that you address the editor in a professional and caring way. Be prepared to sell your story and present yourself in a positive way. Always leave the editor wanting more material from you. Present your article ideas for writing in an interesting, entertaining and informative way.

Do not take rejection personal! Much of the time it has nothing to do with you or your material. Editors have a mindset of what they want and if you don’t give them that, then it’s over. Allow rejection to energize you toward writing a better piece. Turn that lemon of an article into a tantalizing and delicious lemonade, simply by redoing your writing and adding a bit more research to the juice.

Five, never quit! Just because you got some bad feedback doesn’t mean your writing is bad. Keep working and trying. Look at the feedback with a different slant. It is your opportunity and challenge to make that article great. You can do it!

Six, keep a routine schedule. It is important to begin and end the day a certain time. This keeps you fluent, punctual and your writing crisp and fresh.

Seven, don’t stop reading. Even though your job is to write it is also important to keep current, to stay informed---particularly on subjects that you will be writing about in the future.
