    Eric- I had completed a TV repair course and only done half way in Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering before coming out to search for a job.

    Eric- Yes, definetely- It helps me to understand about basic electronic components and how to troubleshoot and repair TV fast.

    Eric- Mostly 29” TV, 21” getting lesser and 14” almost none!

    ERG- What about 34” TV?

    Eric- Not many and if have, I would not want to carry the TV to my second floor office-it’s big and very heavy. I would usually remove the circuit board from my customer’s place for repair.

    ERG- Have any Plasma and LCD TV came across your repair bench yet?

    Eric- Both Plasma and LCD TV send for repair is very rare most probably the sets are still new, expensive and have extended warranty.

    ERG- Do you meet regularly with other TV repairers to discuss about TV problems and solutions?

    Eric- Those days yes but lately I’ve been very busy and only talk through the phone. Normally I would ask for solution for a particular brand which my TV repair friends are familiar with. Sometimes customers want the set back fast and the fastest solution is to call up my repair friends. With this way, I saved lots of time. My TV repair friends also do call me for answers if they face problems in TV repair.

    ERG- What are the biggest problems you are facing in the TV repair business?

    Eric- Too many new TV model approaching the market, expensive TV spares parts, SMD designed in many parts of the TV circuit which is very tough to repair, difficult to find or hire a good and dedicated staff.

    ERG- Have you come across any TV that you can’t repair? And how do you solve it?

    Eric- Yes, of course and if I can’t repair the TV
