We're going to start by creating a new document.
Now we're going to go to the create menu up at the top and select the NN-XT Advanced Sampler.
Next click on the open patch button which is the little button that looks like a folder between the up down buttons and the save patch button next to where is says "Init Patch".
Navigate to the Reason Factory Sound Bank, and click on the NN-XT folder.
You can open any patch you like in the categories. I went to "Voices" and opened the "Amp Vox Organ" patch.
Click once on the NN-XT to highlight it, and go back to create. Choose the "Matrix Pattern Sequencer" device.
Press the "Run" button on the Matrix.
Hold shift, and click and drag across the red spiky lines to create sustaining notes.
If you are using the "Amp Vox Organ" patch you'll notice that it already has some frequency filter action going on. Lets take it to the next level. What do you say?
Press tab to flip the rack around.
On the Matrix there is an empty plug called "Curve CV". Click and drag from that plug to the empty plug on the NN-XT called "Filter Cutoff". Press tab again to return to the front view of the rack.
You'll now notice there is a switch on the Matrix that toggles between "Curve" and "Keys". Switch it to "Curve", and click anywhere above the little red spiky lines to create some bigger red spiky lines. Go ahead and create whatever pattern you like, then on the NN-XT there are two knobs to notice one says "Freq" and the other says "Res".
