FBI agents obtained a search warrant from a judge and raided the Congressional office of Jefferson, and Jefferson’s home. In the home, agents found $90,000 hidden in a freezer. Not to sound speculative, but put two and two together and Jefferson currently looks guilty as sin.

Dennis Hastert and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who have both condemned the actions of the Justice Department and the FBI. While Pelosi wrote a letter to Jefferson, asking him to resign his seat from the House Ways and Means Committee, she is chastising the raid that put Jefferson in that position to begin with. Not only that, but Pelosi is making a political move, considering that Democrats have tried to paint Washington as a Republican culture of corruption.
