I personally agree that we Pakistanis are one of the corrupt nations, there are morals but people are losing them for which could be many factors which is not my topic here. Strangely enough we are always heard stories from our elders that our nation character in a disaster is always remarkable this is a little difficult to understand for the younger generations who have never seen anything like it and thought it to be a thing of the past.

But on Saturday 8 Oct when the biggest tragedy in the history of the country struck, a nation showed its character and morale. At first nobody could realize how big it is and what happened and info started coming about a collapsed building namely the Margalla Towers but the panic started when the news of the the remote districts like Muzzaffarabad, Bagh, Balakot, Rawalakot and Hazara divisions and more developed regions like Abbotabad, where almost all of the region were destroyed thousands death and thousands missing. Countless villages wiped out of the face of the earth indeed a humanitarian tragedy at its peak.

Then came the nation, donating everything and anything it can, examples were being set and heroes emerge. One guy who owned a 20 bed private hospital sold his hospital and donated every surgery item in the hospital. Another one agreed to pay for the fuel of 6 trips of a chartered plane from Karachi to Islamabad carrying aid. The generation that was known as the ‘jeans wearers’ who were thought to be materialistic, selfish and unpatriotic has been working tirelessly days after days especially in the month of Ramadan when majority of Muslims fast in which they don’t eat or drink from dawn to dusk in temperatures more then 35 Celsius. There is no difference in the volunteers whether it is the most elite class or The most modest, whether they are girls or boys, whether they are from any University , school or college or from any other institution or from any age group and from whatever religion or political views they have. Perhaps the most indiscipline nation in the world is working at such co ordination and discipline that the world is surprised.

Personally it was the best experience I have ever add, after 3 days of continuous labor I am forced to write this, my body is tired, battered and bruised but something inside is As happy and contented as I have been all my life people are there for more then that sleeping and living in the PAF BASE, where all the things have been assembled everyday it is such a pile that the whole base is filled with it and the other day another pile is present, and others who prepare food and drinks for these volunteers.

Today I m really proud to call my self a Pakistani as we have set an example for the rest of the world and showed how united as a nation we are in times of need. Today I m proud of my people as how selflessly they have devoted everything for the cause.
