India To The Rescue With Accounting Solutions
Source: Business-Standard.comWhen Control Solutions, one of USA’s biggest accounting firms dealing with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) accounting compliance procedures, wanted to recruit accountants for its expanding practice, it looked at Enabilizer, a New Delhi-based accounting outsourcing firm. That look has led to the two signing a joint venture agreement that allows Control Solutions to outsource its SOX work to the Indian JV.And, it was not the only global firm to look to Indian accountants for h

    Merger And Acquisition Strategies
It is the inherent desire and need of every business to grow both vertically and horizontally. Organic growth, that is development from within, is often slow and sometimes difficult. That is why there is an increasing trend towards mergers and acquisitions. It could be called an instant expansion. Many big corporations are continuously on the lookout for potential targets for mergers or acquisitions. Some even have a core cell or a senior person concentrating on this aspect. Depending on the company'
Tom is a childhood friend of my brother’s. He lived about four houses from us since our junior-high days, and the guys have been friends for years. After getting his degree from Purdue, Tom went to work for a steel company. The guys have another friend, Mark, who, after graduating, wound up leasing a seat at the Mercantile Exchange and later buying it.

Fast-forward several years, when Tom is married with four sons. A couple other friends of their jumped on the “Merc bandwagon” and were doing quite well. By now Mark was a millionaire. Mark offered to help Tom get started working at the Merc. Of course, that would mean Tom would have to quit his job at the steel company, and still support four children and two adults.

I don’t recall how long he took to consider the offer. Eventually he quit the steel company job and headed to the Merc.

My brother’s friends said that for Tom’s first two months at the Merc he looked like a deer caught in headlights.

Is there anything new under the sun? Here's how to find out if your bright idea is unique.
“There’s nothing new under the sun” is probably the one phrase no inventor wants to hear, seldom believes, and is always trying to prove wrong.  However, moving too quickly to prototype stage and first disclosure can turn out to be costly for the inventor who doesn’t take the time to find out if his or her invention is already patented.  Yet, with over 3000 utility patents being issued each week in the United States, that can seem like a daunting if not downright im

Small Business Funding in the UK
Acquiring funding for your business can be time consuming. A lot of small business owners need financial assistance, especially in the first 12 months of starting. The obvious solution is for the owner to take out a loan. There are a number of companies or financial institutions that offer this service. Choosing the right loan can be a difficult process simply due to the amount of products on the market. If you are looking for business funding by way of a loan make sure you pay particular interest to the lo

How To Find Home Businesses That Are Proven By Looking At History
When coaching clients to find a proven income opportunity, I consistently tell them to go with home businesses that are proven. Sounds obvious, but let me explain.People never change. Look through history and you will see trends. These trends are still present today and by latching onto home businesses that are proven to work with these trends, you have a sure winner. Here are some trends that have stood the test of time.1) Making Money - People have always been looking for the goose

They could have made actual lists (if not on paper then at least in their minds) of what had worked and what had not worked for previous project managers, and then applied what they learned when it was their turn to lead their team.

Rather, I saw deer-caught-in-headlights expressions. Then compassion would kick in and I cut them some slack as I thought, “Well, they’re on TV, so of course they’re nervous.”

But then I would think, “Hello? You’re on TV and you know it! Create a plan and act on it!”

The truth is, you don’t have to be on TV managing a team to get stuck looking like a deer caught in headlights while in a leadership role. You could be leading –

    • a corporate division
    • a small business’ distribution area
    • a meeting of a dozen people in a conference room
    • your kid’s soccer team

    and just freeze.

So what do you do when you’re in a new leadership situation and you’re feeling as if every good idea just
