To urge to action! Onward and upward! Full speed ahead! Damn the torpedoes! Lead, follow or get out of the way! And all kinds of expressions that I have heard over the years to “motivate” me. If you are looking to “motivate” your people resources, perhaps they would be better served if you “cheerlead” instead. Here is the difference. So, if you are “motivating” your people, perhaps you might want to take a look at your staff and see if you really need to motivate. Maybe, just maybe, you might need to cheerlead instead.
