While Rosacea can be a sneaky ailment to diagnose because of its similarity to acne there are things you can look for to see if you have Rosacea. Some of the most common symptoms include:

1. A noticeable and odd reddening of the face, nose, eyelids and mouth. The easiest way to describe this redness is that it looks as if you have sunburn at all times. Another good sign is that you notice if people are asking you if you’re blushing when you aren’t.

2. Noticeable red lines underneath the skin. These are caused by broken or disrupted blood vessels underneath the skin and while they usually aren’t painful, they are noticeable. In the most severe cases, it can look somewhat similar to varicose veins, but located on your cheeks instead of your legs.

3. Bouts of stinging or burning sensation in the face. This symptom can also manifest itself in the form of itching attacks in the face, as well. This can feel similar to sunburn or even a bee sting, but more spread out. If this symptom continues for an extended period of time, consult a doctor.

4. Swelling in the face over a matter of days is also a common symptom. In very rare cases, a swelling and hardening of the face is also common. This can be difficult symptom for some women to pinpoint since retaining water is a common symptom during their period. If the swelling continues during other parts of the menstrual cycle, than it is possible that you have Rosacea.

5. Tiny white pimples on the face. Not to be confused with acne, these pimples are much smaller than acne pimples and are not white or blackheads. The pimples are sometimes filled with puss, and if left untreated, larger pimples can form on top of the ones already there. A quick examination by your doctor should be able to easily differentiate Rosacea-related pimples from acne-related ones.
