The Aramic translation of the Hebrew scripture(Onkeles Targum)says that the Spirit of Life (Onkeles: living soul)means a speaking spirit. One of the rabbis - who uses the Aramic term to deducing what its Hebrew equivalent says - tags the follow to it:

Does God consider us as living beings because of our ability of speech? Or so to speak, are we able to speak because of the Spirit of Life (living soul) has been planted into us by our Creator? Is that what the rabbi says? Isn't it sound odd? But let accept it for a second as our starting point in this short commentary and let's see to where we get with it.

Then what kind of human speaking we are talking about? Surely, not just any kind of. Nor speech in general sense. It must be a special one. It must be only the uttered Word of God. Only that kind of speaking spirit could be equivalent to the Spirit of Life. Any other human speaking transfers nothing supernatural or transfers the spirit of death, which has nothing to do with God.

"For it [Law] is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong your days." (Deut 32:47, KJV)

In KJV the "thing" is the translation of Hebrew "dabar" means "word". That is "...it [word] is your life", said Moses to Israelites,"and through this [word] you shall prolong your earthly life". Moses referred us to the Holy Law when he spoke about the word. But the Word (which is the Spirit of Life)as we have been known since the time of New Testament, could not restrict to the Law. "If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal" said Paul. And he went on: "if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing" which means Spirit of Life was not faith. Nor solidarity or devotion: "And if I bestow all my goods to feed 'the poor', and if I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profiteth me nothing."(1Cor 13:15-17 ASB.

The Law, faith, devotion was not the original Spirit of Speech (Onkeles) or Spirit of Life God breathed to Adam. Then what was that? It was love, the heavenly one, Agape. From that time when God breathed into Adam nostrils the breath or Spirit of Life, and man became God's living creature we have been capable to feel and express the heavenly love, Agape.
