    The Power of Questions
I began as the founder and CEO of EMJ, a computer distributing company that grew from zero to over $350,000,000 in sales. I sold EMJ to SYNNEX, and became the CEO of SYNNEX Canada, a company that does over $1 billion in sales. One thing I have learned through these years of experience is the power of questions. One of my passions is the study and practice of time management. After 25 years of running EMJ, I ha

Business Planning Strategy: How Can You Use Numbers To Aid Your Business Judgement And Marketing
Last week, a client chose to focus our coaching session on his Business Plan. He had read that 80% of businesses that fail have no plan, whereas 90% of those that grow have a plan that they review and update at least once a year.Although he had good headings, my client was struggling to write the narrative and fill in the numbers. He also worried about maintaining a 20-page document until I suggested th

Deciding What Voice to Use in Copy
You have to choose a character or an angle that you, the copywriter plays. Copy is interactive. There’s a copywriter and a copy reader. As soon as one is gone, the relationship is over (at least for the time being). Readers don’t have to stick around. There’s no locked door. And they won’t…if you don’t keep them interested. So you need to write as if you are talking to that person directly. How do you

    Catch Tumbling Ideas
Story ideas are everywhere. I asked my brother's advice before purchasing a range or stove, for example. His suggestion was to visit a consumer report website.Meanwhile, an idea for writing spun around my mind.A character logged onto a chat website instead of the consumer site. The plot forms. Plot is a problem, and how the character solves it unfolds the story.Ralph gets Marsh's telephon

Just as it is written, FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG; WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED.

But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:35-39
