Treat Your Hair Loss From the Inside Out
In earlier articles I have talked about topical treatments for hair loss but in this article I would like to put attention on why one can experience hair loss in the first place and I can tell you, it is not from a topical deficiency. Although topical applications have been successful, I think one needs to address the root of the problem as well. Let’s face it, we all want the quick fix and it can’t be soon enough especially if you are suffering. The problem is that hair loss is something that builds up over time (even though hair loss can seem to be sudden), but the truth is, there is a runway before hair loss starts to occur. In some cases, it is genetic. Grandpa or your dad or mothers family has a history of hair loss and you may be the unfortunate one that inherits from them.
For many of us, fear of public speaking is an everyday reality. Striking up a conversation with a stranger often goes quite well, but having to speak during a meeting is far more difficult. Even the thought of a round of introductions breaks many people into a sweat, and if they have to give a speech, many of them contemplate driving their car into a tree.

But this isn’t the fear of only a few. American research (Burnley, Cross and Spanos) shows that more than eight out of ten people suffer, to a greater or lesser degree, from the fear of speaking in public. Four out of ten people place fear of public speaking in the top three of their personal fears; often even above the fear of a terrorist attack or the fear of death.

Psychologists refer to the fear of public speaking as an irrational fear; a fear of something that is actually quite harmless. The bad news is that possibly eighty percent of the human race is afraid of something that they need not be afraid of. The good news is that an irrational fear can easily be overcome. Benjamin van Spijck has developed a method by which the fear of public speaking can be quickly and completely overcome: Overcoming Fear of Public Speaking.

‘Overcoming Fear of Public Speaking’ is a 21-day programme with which anyone can overcome his fear of speaking in public. The programme is based on a unique combination of relaxation exercises, psychotherapy techniques and neurological insights. It is exactly this combination of techniques that makes this programme more effective than traditional methods. The techniques used are described below.

Cognitive restructuring is a technique used in cognitive therapy, one of the larger movements in psychotherapy. Where is Your Focus?
I have a long-term goal--a life-long goal really--to develop the mind of Christ (1 Cor. 2:16). I want to think His thoughts, to share His attitudes, and to see the world and its people as He saw them, as He sees them.Jesus found spiritual truths in every-day incidents, like straining milk into a pitcher or setting aside a lump of dough to rise. I want to find such insights in the world racing past me, but I must confess that it doesn't often happen. I think this is because I do not yet see things often enough from a spiritual point of view. One day recently, though, I was downtown, walking beside the train tracks, when something on the other side caught my attention--a person hurrying along who had a familiar face. I stopped for a moment to watch, and as I did, a commuter train wh

Fattest Country in the World: Are We There Yet?
At an estimated 64.5% of the U.S. population being considered obese or overweight, we must have that dubious title. This information comes from the Trust for Americans' Health, an independent advocacy group. They say that the nation has been let down by ineffective anti-obesity policies, but I'm not sure what they expect. Personal responsibility (and yes, sloth) is a factor, but I can't help but point to my prior article about Burger King and how many calories they pack into a food (and I use the term loosely) item.I mean when a fast food chain sells a kids meal that has close to 700 calories... come on now! Even I, cynical bugger that I am wo

Lock in a Lower Consolidation Rate
On July 1, the interest rate for existing Stafford loans will increase. Many experts believe that it will rise to the highest level in six years. If you are graduating from college or have some loans floating around, you need to consolidate those federal student loans before July 1.The interest rate could go as high as 7%. But if you act right now, you can lock in a rate as low as 4.75% for the full term of the loan. It's simple, the lower the rate, the lower your payment and the more money you save.Under the current law, you can lock in the weighted average of all your loans, up to the nearest 1/8 of 1%. If you have already been paying back your loans, you can consolidate and lock in a rate of 5.375%. Borrowers who are still in the grace period will be able to lock in at 4

Traits and Skills of Successful Internet Entrepreneurs
There are certain traits and skills that many successful online entrepreneurs have in common. Some mentioned in this article may seem simple, but don't overlook their importance. You may not personally be strong in all areas, but you can get by as long as you can delegate tasks that call for them to someone on your team that is.Good CommunicatorWhether you are communicating by email, your web site, ICQ, web-based forums, or whatever, you (or someone in your organization) need to demonstrate good communication skills - especially good writing skills. Unfortunately, many online communications are very weak in this area. I'm not saying this to be critical, but to point out an area for improvement that we can benefit from by giving attention to.Since we're

In other words, to a large extent an individual himself defines whether or not he sees something as a problem, and how intense that problem is for him.

That defining happens in a fraction of a second and is often based on a whole complex of twisted ideas. With cognitive restructuring, people learn to replace twisted ideas with realistic, positive thoughts. Through insight and practise, people learn to understand that fear is not a rational reaction to (the thought of) public speaking. And just by understanding that already creates a great feeling that the fear is diminishing. And then the course participant is ready for the next step: imaginary exposure.

By means of imaginary exposure, feelings of fear will also practically disappear. It is a technique used in behavioural therapy, a second important movement in psychotherapy. The basic principle of behavioural therapy is that undesired behaviour is learnt and can, therefore, be unlearned. With imaginary exposure, the course participant exposes himself to situations that evoke fear, not in reality but in imagination, in the safety of his own home. It begins with a situation that is the least fearful and gradually, when the course participant is ready, builds up to situations that terrify him. By breaking through the avoidance, fear gradually decreases and the participant becomes used to what are for him very difficult situations.

As the participant’s fear decreases, the desire to try speaking in public grows, which is something that, until now, he has often avoided. The participant will, therefore, have to become familiar with a technique that will help him tell a story or give a presentation in a natural way. Mind mapping is such a technique.

Mind mapping is a way of organising and recording information that well suits the human brain. With mind mapping, information is not line
