    In my own hustle to get out the door to various meetings, social gatherings and workouts last week I left cooking utensils on the counter, clothes on the floor and a various assortment of work related papers scattered throughout my house. I woke up this morning, completely geared up to get a full day of work done, except I couldn't find my files, my papers or my mind. I figured I must have left it with the kitchen utensils, right next to the coffee pot on the counter. So, I filled up my cup and slowly waded back into my office, trying to decide which pile of leftover mess to tackle first. Sound familiar?

    Taking one step, no matter how big or small, is still progress.

    Choose a task and follow it to completion. Often, starting with the messy room in your house can free up some brainpower. Open space, open mind. When your physical space is open, clean and full of light, it allows your spirit to mirror that zen-like state. Imagine what being able to easily find necessary items, take care of tasks and breathe deeply in your own physical space could do for your state of mind. What happens when you look at a magazine and see a room that is painted in soft colors and embodies an open, airy layout? We spend a lot of time in our homes – shouldn’t each room be a gift to our senses instead of another source of stress?
