Focusing Your Marketing Efforts
One of my favorite quotes is often used to describe goal-setting -- but it applies equally well to your marketing efforts. We start with Alice lost in the woods in Wonderland, where she comes upon the Cheshire-Cat..."Cheshire-Puss," she began rather timidly, "Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?" "That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat. "I don't much care where..." said Alice. "Then it doesn't matter which way you go," said the Cat. "...so long as I get somewhere," Alice added as an explanation. "Oh, you're sure to do that," said the Cat, "If you only walk long enough."How does this story apply to marketing? Because there are so many different ways to promote your company -- so many places where you can share information about your business. And you can pour a lot of time and energy (not to mention money!) into marketing without really getting anywhere. That is, unless you have a strategy and know where you want your efforts to take you. Three important money areas where developing strategic alliances will serve you well are: Cost Savings, Financial Stability and Buying Parity.Cost SavingsCost savings is an important area for most organizations. I'm not suggesting that you only play the game of business from a defensive position, yet not wasting money is important for any business in an effort to increase net abundance.In manufacturing elements of your product or entire product that could be built in plants (owned by others or in joint venture) with up to date technology, cost savings can be great. What Would You Do If You Didn't Have To Work?
The answer to that is simply what ever you want! Yesterday, Monday, I took my family out to watch Shrek 3. I took them to the 2pm showing. Now that may seem like something little, but for me, it is huge. How many Dad’s were at work away from their families? I know where I would have been. I would have been out making someone else money while being paid peanuts worrying about whether or not I would be able to have the money I needed to make the bills, especially if my family went to the movies. I’m not joking. That is how bad it was.But that’s not how it is now. I choose when I work and when I play. Well, I mostly play because I only work about 3 or 4 hours a day. But yesterday, I choose to work only about an hour and a half and still made money. What a business this is! I’ll tell you what…..there is no other business that I know of that will allow you the financial and time freedom that this one will.How many times have you gone to the movies with your family on a Monday afternoon, as a working parent? It’s not my first and will definitely not be my last. I was actually thinking of just packing up and taking a trip to Colorado or San Diego. I can take my business with me and you know what? I will make mo

Why Have Multiple Streams Of Income
Multiple streams of income is something each person or family should be striving for. It really gives you a better sense of security should any trouble arise. What it means is having more than one place where you are earning income. If the one source of money goes away, then you will still have another source. I recommend trying to get at least 5 sources of income as soon as possible, and then gradually build it up to about 10. Each does not need to be much, maybe about $300 per month. Last time I checked, 10 x $300 is $3,000 per month. This would be pretty good, as most of it will be residual. Let’s look at a simplistic view of multiple streams of income.Rental income: Most of us have never had any rental income, and probably do not know where to start. There are plenty of books out there to get you started. In this case, you would buy a house with a mortgage of $400. Then rent it out for $700. This would give you the $300 you are looking for.MLM, or Direct Sales: I do not care what people say about this, mlm is a very effective way of building residual income, and fast. You need to look at it this way: You are already buying “stuff”, so if you can get the same “stuff” somewhere else, for

Working On A Farm In Kent
Being a student, a person needs to look for summer jobs, to keep up with the expenses for school and fun activities. This task is not always easy, especially when you are studying at an American branch university and you have to pay tuition as well. So getting a summer job obviously rules out getting a job in your home Eastern European country as that would pay for only a couple of beers the most.So here we go, approching the winter and thinking about the summer. There are few agencies in England, most of them under the Seasonal Agricultural Workers Scheme /SAWS/ where we want get in, as this is happening just before we enter the EU. We send off the applications to Concordia and wait. The waiting continues and so we call the office. The lady is a little bit hesitant about what we are studying and where, but we just keep talking that we need the summer farm job just like nothing in life at the moment. In two weeks we get the workcards, happily jumping all around and celebrating the victory, so far.From papers it seems just fine, a small farm in Kent, all in all we are suppose to be twelve people there, and so we should get on. What About Bob? Further Lessons in Implementing a Diversity Strategy
A recent movie starring Richard Dreyfus and Bill Murray tells the story of a man desperately trying to be included as a member of his psychiatrist's family. Whenever the doctor attempted to exclude him, his family would respond by asking, "What about Bob?"In the midst of all the work relating to diversity in the workplace, one group often gets excluded. When affirmative action categories are closely examined, we find that nearly everyone is covered in some way except this group. In discussions of equity, this group is excluded. As we struggle with ways to break through the glass ceiling, they are the ones on the other side. In our quest to value differences, we often fail to account for and honor their differences. I speak of course of the non-immigrant, non-Hispanic, able-bodied, heterosexual, white male. (Isn't it interesting that I had to list so many qualifiers to adequately identify them?) This group is often seen as "they" as "we" attempt to get more access and power in organizations. As a black management consultant, I am constantly confronted by white males who feel that they are being attacked and maligned in today=s workplace.White men are even given a special phra
