And maybe the dirty looking guy in reality could beat Wolfgang Puck in the Iron Chef competition, BUT all of that doesn’t matter because you and the world will still perceive Jackie and Wolfgang as the “go to” person in their fields.

    The ‘others’ are virtually unknown and haven’t established themselves as authorities. And the reality is, the general population would most likely choose and trust products from people they are familiar with over some unknown (and therefore less trustworthy) person.

    Of course most of these experts do have some advanced knowledge in their subjects that the general population doesn’t know about. Their advantage is that they have found a way of flaunting their expert knowledge by starring in movies or opening restaurants.

    What are you good at? What is your passion? Do you have above average knowledge and insight on your subject that the majority doesn’t know about? If so, go out there and start establishing yourself as an authority over the internet!
