    What Are You Really Selling?
“I’m a realtor, I sell real estate.” Or do I? Maybe I sell the American dream of owning a home. Or the idea of putting down roots. Or of having a safe haven to raise kids.Look below the surface of your product or service and find out what people are really buying from you. The man who buys an expensive Mercedes is probably not shelling out his hard-earned cash for what’s under the hood. He’s more likely attracted by the feeling of luxury and belonging to an elite group of people. A lady is not just writing a check for a haircut: she’s buying beauty or a desire to look her best. An acupuncturist is not selling a treatment with needles, he’s selling health. You see this in action when you read or watch ads. Notice which ones really grab your attention. Then look at the hidden appeal. How many of them really focus on features? A purse may be made of the highest quality leather but the ad may appeal to your sense of style. You see, it’s the emotional message underneath it all that gets your attention first. Charles Revson, the founder of Revlon Cosmetics once said "In the factory we make cosmetics. In the store we sell hope."Of course, buyers want to know the features of your service or product, but the main thrust of your content should be geared towards tapping into the feeling your clients will get from using your product or service. That’s because we make our buying decisions emotionally, not rationally. Then we rationalize why we made that decision. Illogical, but true!Once you define what you’re really selling, you can use this information to speak to the underlying wants of your target market. When you draw prospects into the inner experience, th
not a quick fix! Like any new business (for that is what it is), it takes time and effort to learn all its intricacies. Unless you have a product that people want to buy; a web site that sells it effectively; and a means of driving lots of people to it, you will end up throwing good money after bad. Effective Online Logo Designs
For those individuals seeking inexpensive logo designs, look no further, online logo designs fit the bill very nicely, thank you. The Internet truly can be your best friend, especially when you're starting up a small business. I run my own business and was looking for an online logo design service provider. I managed to get in touch with several people through a simple Internet search. The artistry and service levels vary greatly as did the fees, but that is to be expected.I actually decided to seek out free online logo designs to see what I could come up with. Yes, that's right to free. I actually found a great deal of services. Surprisingly, there were what if you services provided free online logo designs. I was actually quite surprised. One of the best I have found is cool text. This is an online logo design provider that can issue a simple yet elegant logo designs. The process is pretty cut and dry actually. The style, color and design of the logo are all modifiable so that you may customize them as you see fit. Your simple and effective online logo design is ready for download and subsequent use. It sure beats the heck out of messing around with an expensive software applications to try and create your online logo designs.Of course there are some drawbacks with such online logo designs. For starters, you must choose which template that suits your needs and the choices can be quite limited. Also, you can’t create a really elaborate, professional looking logo, as the online logo design process is built to be very basic. So forget about online logo designs incorporating two or three lines of text and your favorite photograph. They are really created to get u
This is the story of a novice internet marketer who has spent a miserable, frustrating and expensive twelve months learning the lessons of selling on the internet – the hard way! However, he believes that he has turned the corner and is now looking forward to, at least modest, future profits. That person is me, and I would like to share my experiences with you in the hope that your journey will be less painful than mine. I am certainly not suggesting that the lessons I learnt are definitive, nor will they apply to every one else who embarks on a campaign of internet marketing. I am merely recounting what happened to me and the problems I encountered.

My journey started in November 2004 when I attended a conference with a speaker who was, by his own admission, an internet millionaire. He, like me, was a professional speaker but he had diversified into selling his products and services to this world-wide market. Like many of my colleagues, I had previously heard bits and pieces about internet marketing and I was hungry to learn more. It is true to say that I was captivated by his story and, especially, by the rich pickings that he said were out there on the net, for relatively little time and expense. ‘Make money in your sleep’ was a phrase he used. I was inspired – well, who wouldn’t be by the prospect of working at home for a few hours a day whilst watching the money flow in 24/7! I bought his pack of tutorials, ebooks, CDs etc for $500 – my first investment in this Brave New World.

Interestingly, I write this article the day after attending another meeting that had a speaker again telling us how easy it is to make serious money on the internet. Whilst I do not doubt that such people indeed do make a very good living for relatively little effort, believe me, it is not easy! Making money selling products or information on the net is not a quick fix! Like any new business (for that is what it is), it takes time and effort to learn all its intricacies. Unless you have a product that people want to buy; a web site that sells it effectively; and a means of driving lots of people to it, you will end up throwing good money after bad. Lead Generation Company Includes Cheque With Sales Letter
Two of the greatest challenges for a company doing direct mail sales lead generation are getting attention and creating attractive offers. A compelling package with a poor offer will flop. And a poor package with a compelling offer won’t even get opened. One advertiser who managed to both grab attention and make an irresistible offer is Coutts & Co., 15 Lombard Street, London EC1V 9AU, England. One of their staff, a Mr. R. W. R. Round, mailed a unique lead generation letter to law firms.Stapled across the top of the letter was a cheque (or “check,” as my American friends would say). The cheque was drawn on the company bank account, and was made payable to the letter recipient, in the amount of 25 Pounds Sterling, but was not signed. In the letter, the writer presents his simple offer. He will meet with the prospect for 20 minutes to resent a remarkable new pension scheme developed for the legal profession. If the prospect hears the presentation and believes the writer has wasted the prospect’s time, then the writer will sign the check and hand it to the prospect without a quibble. The letter goes on to give a few credible reasons for why the prospect should meet with the writer, the most compelling of which is the fact that over 120 other law firms have already taken advantage of the services of Coutts & Co.This letter is remarkable for a number of reasons. It has stopping power. A real cheque (not one of those fake ones, so common in direct mail marketing) with my name on it would get my attention, at least long enough to motivate me to read the letter and discover what was going on.And the offer is simple to grasp. “I’ll tell you during a

How To Learn The Basics About Building A Business Online!
The first time the thought of doing business online popped up in my mind was little more then 2 years ago. It actually didn't start with the thought of doing business at all! It started with me doing my first webpage without a clue of what I was doing. I had some ideas about people finding information on the 'net'. I was enthusiastic when I saw that I could do a website without even knowing any html code what so ever! Then I realized that if it's so easy making a webpage then how easy shouldn't it be making money online. I jumped into different ideas fearless eh, and without knowledge! Despite of the hype about getting rich from the Internet, it seems like starting a online business is pretty much like starting a conventional business in the 'outside' world. Now, to not make the same mistakes I did: here some things for you to think of before jumping into the big pit of Internet business:1. Make a Personal evaluation. Make a personal evaluation of what type of skills and interests you have? There are people starting businesses in areas they already work in - for example, someone who works as support technician might start an Internet business offering support to people in his/her expert field. What kind of business would you love to do? Identify those types of businesses that really apply to you on a personal level. Why start a business that makes you miserable and leave a job you hate? Doesn't make much sense does it?2. Research The Market. Why put your heart and soul together with funds into projects that are doomed to fail, cause no one wants the product or services you offer? By making research on the market you'll minimize the risk of failure

Should You Wait for Your Prospects to Call You?
There are several theories about prospecting or cold calling for customers. One of them is learning the perfect script as a magic cure all. I find that a good script or properly preparing for your sales call is a very wise technique that can dramatically increase the success of your sales calls. However, plenty of my clients confess that it is not the sales process that trips them up. The most difficult part is picking up that 100 pound phone!Another theory about cold calling is dead or obsolete. What is meant by that is there are ways to implement savvy marketing in order to get your prospects calling you instead of you calling them.Does anything sound better than that? Just think about that for a moment. Wouldn't your job be peach perfect, if all your prospects called you? The truth is, you probably would not have your current job, if it were that easy to get prospects to call; no business would need to hire sales professionals, if the prospects did the work!Don't get me wrong, I believe in savvy marketing. Anything you can do to make the sales process better, more effective, and easier definitely gets my vote. However, reciprocity is part of any healthy relationship. And when it comes to developing a healthy customer/salesman relationship, calling your customers is one of the smartest marketing strategies you can use. So why would you really want to forgo it?It never ceases to amaze me how often I hear about the frustration sales professionals experience after leaving a message or two and the potential prospect never calls back. When this happens, it is often assumed that the prospect is not interested. After years of being i

Lesson No 1. Do not believe all you hear from internet experts who tell you how easy it is to make your fortune. It isn’t!

Let me continue my story. So, off I went on my new venture. I eagerly read the information that I had just bought, along with lots of other advice and guidance from internet marketers. Many recommended additional software that would make selling on the web more effective. I took their advice and bought some of the products they championed, for example a programme for making attractive website banners, and another that promised to produce amazingly effective sales pages for the website that I was to produce. However, the banners I made were far from attractive and when I sought advice from the company I bought the software from, they failed to reply. As for the sales page generator, it did teach me some good lessons but was far too inflexible and restrictive so I soon reverted to writing my own copy.

What I did not realise at the time was that the internet marketers who were recommending these products were affiliates: they received a commission from every sale resulting from their recommendation. I now know that affiliate marketing is big business and can produce significant income flows. In fact, let me put my cards on the table: I am going to recommend two products to you later in this article and I will gain a commission if you take my advice. However, these are products that I truly believe in and have been extremely helpful to me. I believe that they are worth every cent to someone serious about making money. You can, of course, take my word for that, or not. At least I have been up-front about it!

Lesson No 2. Beware of advice from ‘experts’ who may be more interested in making money as an affiliate than in helping you.

Of course, to make money in any business you have to have a product that people want to buy. What was I going to sell? Well, I have always been fascinated by quotes – words of wisdom from those who can ad
