Credit Card Penalties and How to Avoid Them down. The question is, how do you measure his productivity? For the well organized borrower, credit card penalties might be a subject of little interest. However most of us get hit from time to time with one or another of the multitude of penalties credit card issuers can levy. There is a reason for this. The credit card companies rake in a lot of extra income by invoking these penalties. If it seems that they are becoming more common, it is because they are, with the lenders tinkering with the rules frequently to try catching you in their trap. The main credit card penalty that seems to hit everyone from time to time is the late fee.One of the lenders' games has been to change the address the payment is to be mailed to periodically, hoping the customers won’t notice. For example, you live in New York and your check was mailed to a processing center in New Jersey.Suddenly the processing center is moved to Arizona. You think 3 or 4 days is more than enough time for your payment to arrive on time, but now it might actually require 5 to 7 days for the mail to arrive at the processing center. Throw in the fact that grace periods are growing shorter all the time and your payment is more likely to be late. The At the time I was born, it was common for women giving birth to stay in the hospital for ten days. Today they send women home after a day or two. I would consider that to be an advance in technology, and knowledge, wouldn’t you? Yet when a statistician looks at figures for hospital bed occupancy, he would see a decline. I have another friend who operates a package delivery service. To me, they have very little value. As far as I can see, they are full of errors. Let me explain.Excellent customer service is imperative in the marketplace today. As a home based business owner you should know the importance of getting and keeping a happy customer. It is the life blood of every business. Many business owners work so hard to get the customer and then blow it by not offering first class service.Small businesses can quite often offer better customer service then most big companies for many reasons. Usually it is easier to add personal touches, keep overhead low, have quicker response time and enhance the customer's experience from start to finish. Each customer's purchase can be seen almost immediately on the books. Small business owners can take advantage of the close (sometimes one on one) relationship they have with their customers. Many of us can share our stories of a bad customer service experience. In fact a bad customer experience is told to more people then a good customer service story. In order to stop the bad mouthing and get the good word out you need an excellent customer service system in place for your home business. An excellent customer service system should be easily implemented in your home business. It is as simple as What’s wrong with traditional statistics? They fail to measure what is really going on in the economy because the measurements that are being taken today are completely out of synchronization with reality. In fact, it has become virtually impossible to measure some things, which if not measured, render a variety of economic conclusions virtually worthless. Let’s see what these “immeasurables” are. Service Orientation As some economies become service rather than production oriented, it becomes increasingly difficult to measure output. When a nation is primarily a producer of goods, it is relatively easy to measure work output in terms of tons of steel produced, number of automobiles manufactured, miles of road paved, board feet of lumber shipped, etc. But how do you measure the amount of information services provided? How do you measure the output of a think-tank? How do you measure the output of an accounting firm, a legal service, a bank, a financial adviser, or even a trader of futures, options, or shares? Does a trader have an output? Would you measure a trader’s output by the number of round turns he makes? What about the ones where he loses? Technological Advances New technology – leading to improvement in quality, quantity, or both, render it extremely difficult to measure productive output. Let me give you an example of what I mean. Forty years ago, Ford Motor Company employed 600 men at their plant just outside of Kansas City, Missouri. Today that plant is operated by just 6 men. What happened to 594 jobs? They have been taken over by robots. The use of robots has created a shorter but improved product cycle. A friend of mine, who is one of the 6 men who work in that plant, sits around doing nothing. He is bored stiff. He takes a notebook computer to work and plays games. But he has to be there in case one of the robots breaks down. The question is, how do you measure his productivity? Would you measure a trader’s output by the number of round turns he makes? What about the ones where he loses? As humans, our strongest emotional responses - both positive and negative - come from visual cues. That's precisely why the old adage, "A picture is worth a thousand words," has more than a ring of truth to it. When you're flipping through a magazine or surfing the Web, the photos are what make you stop and look. Today, the images that are most effective in capturing the attention of readers and web visitors alike can be summed up in three words: ocean, water, life.Imagery is EverythingThose who are in the business of advertising or web design understand that developing a wonderful product or a website full of useful information is important, but it's only one component of success. Choosing the proper imagery to communicate to the potential customer or visitor can result in resounding success, while selecting the wrong images can be disastrous in terms of sales and web "stickiness."Carefully selected images can help to establish and reinforce brand awareness, can help to target niche markets, and can help to build customer loyalty. Today, lifestyle photography is the primary means of conveying consumer messages -so much so that product photography is often Technological Advances New technology – leading to improvement in quality, quantity, or both, render it extremely difficult to measure productive output. The question is, how do you measure his productivity?A corporate or company logo plays an important role in projecting its image to the people. As a result, it is very important to evaluate whether your company logo depicts the right image or not.A company logo is like a visiting card, which gives one insight into the company. A company logo should be very professional, precise and attractive to the viewer. Company write-ups may be good but will only play a role if people get around to reading them. All representations and communications of the company include the company logo, be it in print media or on the web.One has to make sure that the company website has a good layout, interface and design along with the placement of the company logo. A well thought out and detailed logo makes a very good impression on the customers and prospects. A logo is the first glimpse of the company. If a company does not have a good logo then there are strong chances that the viewers may feel that this unprofessional approach will also be present in other aspects of the business. It is quite upsetting to see a badly turned out company logo. Very rarely does one come across a corporate, that has an unprofessional logo.Compani At the time I was born, it was common for women giving birth to stay in the hospital for ten days. By careful use of a computer to monitor the amount of traffic on del How to Succeed in Business Without Compromising Your Integrity down. The question is, how do you measure his productivity?I spent some twenty years in the corporate world, for much of it I was not particularly interested in spirituality. It was a world where profits reigned supreme, often with little respect for the rest of society. It took a while for change to happen in Australia, but led by Ralph Nader in the USA, consumers have become more aware of their rights with respect to corporations. New government bodies looking at pollution, corporate fraud and other matters have appeared and some of our leading businessmen are spending time behind bars. Greater education of the general population is leading to more informed choices by consumers. There have been many cases of businesses ignoring those who have an interest in what they do at their own peril. At university my business degree has placed much emphasis on stakeholder theory and issues management. These concepts refer to understanding the needs of the wider community including governments and pressure groups and the likely effect on business operations under differing conditions. Even the big Australian, BHP, has set up an issues management department after it was caught polluting the Fly river in Papua New Guinea. At the time I was born, it was common for women giving birth to stay in the hospital for ten days. Today they send women home after a day or two. I would consider that to be an advance in technology, and knowledge, wouldn’t you? Yet when a statistician looks at figures for hospital bed occupancy, he would see a decline. I have another friend who operates a package delivery service. By careful use of a computer to monitor the amount of traffic on delivery routes at various times of day, his company has been able to increase the number of deliveries made while at the same time decrease the number of delivery vehicles and drivers needed to make those deliveries. Now I happen to think that’s a great improvement. Certainly it is making my friend a more wealthy and successful businessman. But his company’s productivity, as measured by delivery miles driven, would show a drop, and since he used fewer vehicles, that fact would show up as fewer vehicles sold, and less steel produced. Do you see where this is going? We are looking at a problem to which there is no solution. Our concept of a unit of output is all wrong, and there is no way to make it right. Technological advances, especially when they result in rapid quality improvements, are increasingly difficult to measure. Because of our inability to measure real output, our statistics will fail to reflect what is really happening in the economy. Yet another problem created by technological advances is seen in the flood of new products and services being produced. Many jobs did not exist a few years ago. Neither did the products or services that produced those jobs. If you are a trader, you probably have had first-hand experience with technological obsolescence. The computer you purchase for your trading is obsolete almost the day you purchase it. Within a year, the trading software you use has also become obsolete. Did you know that the average life of a computer model is now less than 12 months? And this is true for most consumer electronics. Thirty percent of sales are for products that did not exist a year earlier. Years ago I gave up on the idea of buying a camera. No sooner did I obtain one than it became obsolete. The manufacturer came out with a new model that had more capabilities than the one I just purchased. It was maddening. It caused me great frustration. Worse than that, it irritated my lust gland (the lust gland shares a common duct with the greed gland). I wanted to buy a new camera at least once a year. The only cure was to not own
