Every time I have the desire to do something, to create something, that’s Spirit seeking expression through me. ANY time we connect with something or someone, we're also connected with Spirit (also known as God, the Universe, Higher Power, the Source). While our personal definition of Spirit is unique, when we connect with that Spirit it immediately connects us with something outside of ourselves.

Paul and Silas were escorted to the lowered dungeon, uncomfortable, in chains, mistreated, hurting and still probably bleeding from the beatings. One would expect them to be belligerent, angry, complaining but instead we find them singing and rejoicing. At midnight when it would seem they would have been trying to rest and soothe themselves, they prayed and sang praises to God.

Those of you who are unemployed, or desire a career change, or perhaps, like me, want to expand the work you already have, may notice things are not happening as fast as you had hoped. Take heart! You are not a failure and there is nothing wrong with you! To find your way stop pushing and let God (as you understand Him) lead.

At times when we think honestly, if we stop deceiving ourselves, we are forced to admit that life per se can become an unmitigated horror. Not only are we threatened by wars, financial shifts and joblessness, the calamities of nature and narcissistic manipulators, the very earth itself treats us with supreme indifference. The beautiful and productive world we inhabit slowly but surely converts every plant that sprouts a stalk and each creature that draws a breath into fertilizer to feed yet another doomed generation.

Let us grasp from the outset that success as understood in the usual secular sense of the word is not promised in the kingdom of God. God never promised anybody a star-studded career. He never promised achievement in the worldly understanding of the word. In fact, He seem to promise the exact opposite.

Life is full of ups and downs, trials, and tribulations. They are called the storms of life. Whether it’s losing a job, the end of relationship, death, divorce, financial problems, sickness, homelessness, peer pressure, etc…. everyone is going to have some type of storm that they must deal with.

Many of us have been taught that it is wrong to be angry. This thinking weighs heavily in both the sacred and secular domains. Is that thinking right or wrong?

Too many days can be spent alone. Too many days can be lost to failure or fear. Too many days can be lost in pity. Finding your meaning and direction in life, living your life purpose, will change that forever.

Rarely do two individuals agree on what is morally right or morally wrong. We are adrift without answers. No single authority rules our conduct. We are free to be prejudiced or promiscuous, to cheat and chisel.

To a shaman a kachina isn't really a doll or a child's toy. Also, it isn't a collector's piece of art or a decoration. However, it is often used that way, and that's ok too. There is a place for that approach in our lives. They do make a powerful addition to any home's decor, and make a great conversation piece.

You become what you see. Jesus brought to light immortality through the gospel. The outer church sees only mortality. The teaching of Jesus is about God's gift of immortality to every man-the true self made in the likeness of God, immortal.

Make no mistake about it, change is challenging whether it is conscious or unexpected. Viewing adversity as change, not loss or failure, is part of empowered and positive thinking.
