Shamanism

Shamans tend to be men {Women have more of these abilities in their natural state and require less altered consciousness.}, though women also can become shamans; some women shamans are extraordinarily powerful. In some cultures, shamans are involuntarily chosen by the spirits; they realize their calling in a transformational experience, often a serious illness that brings them close to death {For example Damion Brinkley of today.} and is self-cured. In other cultures, persons with natural shamanic gifts are selected at a young age, trained and initiated.

Is There More To This Life?

I often ask myself this question. Not in the times of prosperity or when everything is going great. But, in the times when I feel alone or everything seems to be stagnant. There has been this lurking question underneath all the good times and all the bad times.

Is It Real?

If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. --2 CORINTHIANS 5:17, KJV It may have happened to you at a Billy Graham Crusade. Perhaps it was during a telecast of The 700 Club or during a conversation with a friend. Maybe you were alone with God when it happened. But some-how, someplace deep within, you believed that Jesus of Nazareth, God’s Son, died for your sins and rose from the dead to be your Lord and Savior. Then that belief grew into action, and you called out, “Jesus, I take You as my Savior. I surrender to You. Be the Lord of my life!”

Reasons to Fast and Pray

Declare a holy fast; call a sacred assembly. Summon the elders and all who live in the land to the house of the LORD your God, and cry out to the LORD. JOEL 1:14 The Bible teaches that there are times for feasting and banqueting, but there are also times for fasting. Biblical reasons for fasting are national peril (Joel 1:2; 2:12); mourning (2 Samuel 12:16–17); protection (Esther 4:16); revelation (Daniel 9:3); and power in the personal life (Luke 4:1–2).

An Open Invitation

An Open Invitation “All you who are thirsty, come and drink.” ISAIAH 55:1, NCV The most incredible invitations are not found in envelopes; they are found in the Bible. You can’t read about God without finding Him issuing invitations. He invited Eve to marry Adam, the animals to enter the ark, David to be king, Israel to leave bondage, Nehemiah to rebuild Jerusalem. God is an inviting God. He invited Mary to birth His Son, the disciples to fish for men, the adulterous woman to start over, and Thomas to touch His wounds. God is the King who prepares the place, sets the table, and invites His subjects to come in. In fact, it seems His favorite word is come.

Be Thankful

Some people think just by saying the words thank you is just. Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
